I have walked this track in Watsons Bay on an overcast day and I promised myself that I will do it again when the backdrop is vivid blue sky. I kept my promise.

The walk is just under 3kms return. It starts from Watsons Bay Beach where you can enjoy the view of Sydney skyline from afar behind a number of luxurious yatchs. You will walk along a short residential narrow street where at the end lies the historic and pretty Camp Cove Beach. The spot is popular for snorkelling and scuba-diving. The track will also take you to the Lady Bay Beach which is popular for nude swimming and nude sunbaking. If this kind of thing offends you, you don’t have to look. Just skip the view. 😀 At the end of the track is the circuit to Hornby Lighthouse. The stunning view of the ocean from the lighthouse partnered with vivid blue sky backdrop makes this walking track a must see in the Eastern suburbs.
After the relatively short walk, you can enjoy a nice dip in the beach to cool down. Alternatively, you can sit down for a meal to enjoy the gourmet food on offer in the menu from the Beach Club or sample the local seafood from the famous Doyle’s in which both boasts the beautiful view of the bay. You may have to stand in the queue to get in though as these joints can get really busy from tourists and locals alike. If you don’t want to stand in the queue, buy some take away food and sit at the nearby Robertson Park for a picnic. The view is equally beautiful.

  1. Wonderful photos! A walk like that in the sun.. very delightful. Here autumn is starting and despite a few nice days, it has been raining and storming quite heavy which also has it charms. Keep up the good work and enjoyment of nature!

    Kind regards,
