Forster as one of the tourist websites would describe it is “the jewel of nsw north lakes and the beating heart of the great lakes.” That’s a big call but the town certainly lives up to it’s claim. It is a short less than 4 hours drive from Sydney. This town boasts a stunning coastline of beaches, rivers and lakes. For the more active ones, it offers a variety of water sports activities plus whale watching and fishing tours. It is also not uncommon to spot swimming dolphins and sting rays in the crystal clear water whilst walking along the coastal track.
The town is connected by a bridge to its twin-town called Tuncurry which is equally stunning. The connecting bridge allows the twin-towns to become a one big resort for visitors and locals alike. I like this part of the world because it provides a small village ambience yet it provides all the amenities one would require.
