The Great Ocean Road in Victoria is one of the world’s most scenic roads and you could drive through the region which covers south-west Victoria and home to the famous 12 Apostles. The journey starts from Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula. Whilst driving, you will quickly discover beautiful beaches, a good selection of restaurants and an enormous range of recreational activities from fishing and golfing to diving and surfing.
The breathtaking coastal drive apparently attracts seven million tourists annually and the picturesque view at every turn is a delight to your eyes. The spectacular views will provide an orgasmic pleasure to both amateur and professional photography enthusiasts. You must stop off at one of the most visited stretches of the road at the 12 Apostles to see the famous natural wonder of rugged splendour of huge rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean. I do suggest bringing wind and waterproof clothing as the weather at this part of the road can get unpredictable.
The drive along the coast to seaside resort towns such as Torquay, Lorne and Apollo Bay will offer you a reasonably priced accommodation with ocean view, stunning beaches and some of Australia’s impressive rainforest scenery in the nearby Otway Ranges.
TIP: The weather in this part of the world can get unpredictable so bring at least one light jacket to keep you warm even if its Summer.
