Question: What would be better than spending your holidays in Hamilton Island? Answer: Go for a day trip to a ‘must-see’ Whitehaven Beach in Whitsundays.
The choppy boat ride took about an hour to get to Whitehaven Beach. The weather is not always that unpleasant but we unfortunately picked a windy day. The day trip was already booked and paid for and any cancellation will forfeit the payment so we might as well go.
As soon as we arrived, it was easy for me to see why it is the most photographed beach in Australia. It is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and I have been to many places around the world. The crystal clear aqua waters and pristine silica sand took my breath away. Whitehaven Beach stretch over seven kilometres along Whitsunday Island. It is nature at its best and it provides the greatest sense of relaxation and escape. Sink your feet into the sand and feel the pure warm sand in between your pedicured toes. And as soon as you wade into the warm waves that gently lap the shore, you will soon realize why people come here from all over the world.
At the northern end of Whitehaven Beach is Hill Inlet which is amazingly stunning where the tide shifts the sand and water to create a beautiful fusion of colours. The lookout at Tongue Point that took about 20 minutes walk is the best spot from which to view the swirling sands of the inlet.
TIP: If you don’t mind a short bush walk, book your Whitehaven Beach tour with an operator that visits the lookout.
