An idyllic island hidden away in a sheltered bay only 5 minutes by 24 hour dingy boat from Vanuatu mainland. You don’t need a boat to come back to the mainland when it’s low tide. You could literally just walk back across the water. The ‘On the Beach’ casual bar and restaurant overlooks the coral reefs and crystal clear tropical water. It’s the perfect seating area conveniently situated to view the sunset whilst sipping delicious cocktails and feeling the warm sand in between your toes. The restaurant serves daily fresh a la carte meals of authentic Vanuatu cuisine and they are utterly delicious.
The island is surrounded by a marine sanctuary and offers great snorkelling and scuba diving. We have decided to don our snorkels and flippers to go snorkelling and see vibrantly coloured-fish just three metres from the shore. The beach is not sand but small dead corals so you can’t really go walking along the shore barefoot. The island is home to the world’s only underwater Post Office. It’s worth going to just experience the novelty of that. You can also hire all you diving and snorkelling gears from the island.
TIP: Bring water-proof footwear if you want to walk along the beach unless the sole of your feet is as thick as a crocodile skin.
